Solaris 800 | Ferrania

With a little bit of time on my hands I've managed to start exploring some of the possibilities in using different films to create subtle tones in a photograph. My first test roll: Solaris (800 iso) by Ferrania. This Italian-based company very likely does not produce the 800 iso film anymore, but the rolls shouldn't be expensive, unless like me you happen to be based in Singapore where everything is expensive. I got my roll from a charming shop at Bras Basah Complex called Cat Socrates, it stocks the film in a few different speeds too.

Perhaps, I have been pampered by the fine grain in Kodak and Fuji films. This roughness was a welcome surprise.

I haven't given a name to this cat yet, but it comes to say hello once in a while. And also to check if I've been keeping my kitchen clean.

I was promised creamy tones, the film delivered

Suppertime, and a hyperactive brother.
