I'm relieved that it rained all day today. It was starting not to feel like I was in London, especially over the past three days when it was sweltering. So I've opened up the windows to my new room (I'm staying at Ven's while she is grappling with brick-hard pillows in Korea, and still living out my big-city dream while it lasts).

I have a view of St Paul's cathedral from here, so I'm leaving the window open even though it sounds like I have my ear to the ground on Waterloo Bridge. I endure it out of affection and nostalgia for this place. A new set of challenges await me in Singapore that I am happy to escape for now. Stuff like, adulthood and careerwomanhood.

Tomorrow, Liverpool for the much-anticipated Magritte exhibition! Am excited, and not only because it was the birthplace of The Beatles. Both at the prospect of exploring a new bit of England, and going to see one of the most awesome painters of the 20th century.
